ARIANA GRANDE
Ariana has been one of those celebrities that were present in my childhood, I still listen to her music till this day, she has those mesmerising vocals that can captivate anyone, a lot of her songs still sticks with me and have special place in my heart, even if I don't relate, or I dislike the lyrics, but music can also be about the memories you built upon them.
TAYLOR SWIFT
A classic one. To be honest, I wasn't a fan untill recently, I used to dislike her music, but she made a significant switch in her writing, now, her songs are poetry, it's really interesting how she play with words, sometimes fancy words, and great metaphors. I could argue that not all her songs are that increrible, and that she's almost like an unreliable narrator, a deeply flawed character, she still address it for the least, which is also another interesting thing about her.
LANA DEL REY
The real poet, the star of every show, Lana is increrible, all of her songs are personal to me, she speaks to me, everything she writes about, her vulnerability, her aura, her inspriration, her life experiences, her religious journey, all of these make up the person I am today. One can heavily be affected by the music, but also by the artist, I strongly believe she's irreplicable, no one can be the new Lana Del Rey.
MITSKI
Can't forget those days in middle school when I used to listen to mitski every morning on the bus, she might have worsen my emotional state, and a lot of the times now I avoid listening to her for my well being, but only because she truly captures and word those deep feelings and emotions. Connecting through music made by people that express their own experiences is really the whole point.
ETHEL CAIN
AH YES RELIGIOUS TRAUMA. Honestly, nothing more creative and artistic and somewhat horrifying than religious symbolism in media, ethel cain's work is so impressive and, indeed, so scary. It's sadening how, because of lack of literacy, people don't take stuff seriously anymore, ' We live in an irony epidemic ' as she said, art should not be a joking matter all of the time, 'yes you ate that like isaiah ate ethel' a refrence toa cannibalistic storyline in her album, but like cmon?
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE
One of the best storytelling in albums must be the ones of My Chemical Romance, 'The Ghost of You' and 'The Black Parade' share increrible and interesting stories about death, regret and romance. I think people who dislike or even mock the emo genre should really give it a chance, what do you know about a young man making a deal with the devil to kill 1000 evil men to revive his lover?
BEABADOOBEE
She's more of a shared exxperience honestly, me and my best friend discovered her back in 2020 when she first released her album, we were so obsessed I even got inspiration from her friend's art, isn't that crazy? now she's everywhere and surprisingly I'm not upset about it, and she may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I reckon you could find one song that you would enjoy.
BOYGENIUS
How do you feel about three young women writing songs about their platonic/romantic unique female friendship? Based. And I'm not gonna lie, I don't get some of their lyrics, sound like some bizarre weird words sticked together, but that's the beauty of it. each one of them write songs individually too, you can clearly distinguish each one's different style, but they're still similar somehow, if that makes sense.
